A new hair care range from the salon brand JOICO that aims to stop damage before it occurs. The Defy Damage Protective collection, which includes a shampoo, conditioner, masque and shield, has a professional and a Home Care selection of hair-repairing products.

The at-home system protects all hair types from the ravaging effects of daily heat styling, UV exposure and environmental pollution that lead to dry, dull, lacklustre locks, according to a press release.

The damage-defying collection uses ingredients such as Arginine, Rose Hip Oil and Moringa Seed Oil to help protect and strengthen hair strands for results you can, instantly see and feel. What we say: Having just lightened her hair, our tester was eager to try out how well this range could rehab her colour-treated tresses. The shampoo has a unique texture (almost like a gel and a little goes a long way!) and leaves hair feeling completely clean.

Our tester tried out the thick hair mask, which seemed to envelope her strands with nourishing product while in the shower. She followed with an application of the protecting cream on towel-dried hair and then allowed her stressed strands to air-dry before heat styling. Hair felt smooth and noticeably more hydrated after using this range, providing a nice, strand-softening boost for post-bleaching stressed hair.
