NSA RV Products RB-4000 Receiver Style Ready Brake

Ready Brake works by using the weight and momentum of your towed vehicle as it pushes toward your motorhome when you brake. This activates the lever on top of the brake system which is connected to your towed vehicle brake pedal with a cable. When the lever moves forward it proportionally applies the brake in your towed vehicle. When you drive the motorhome forward it relieves the pressure that your towed vehicle was applying from its weight and momentum while braking which de-activates the lever on the brake system and releases the towed vehicle brake. Vacuum pressure does not build up in your towed vehicle brake system’s master cylinder while the vehicle is turned off but this is no problem at all for the ReadyBrake. ReadyBrake is strong enough to activate the brakes without using the towed vehicle master cylinder.
