Hanayama CROSS puzzle is a 2 piece take-apart puzzle.
Newly released in 2022.
The objective is to separate the pieces; to rejoin; AND to know how you did it!!! The overall shape of each piece is square, however, pieces are unique with varying protrusions which limit movement in all directions.
One would think that separating two pieces would be a simple project, however the puzzle designer (Edi Nagata) has been very devious in an effort to thwart such success.
CROSS Hanayama is a level 3 puzzle on a scale on 1 to 6 where 6 is the most difficult.
Most will find the CROSS Puzzle an excellent challenge.
Requires much thinking, planning and many attempts.
Equally challenging is to put the puzzle back together.
Occasionally someone will accidentally separate the pieces and think they are a genius !!!! NOT SO ! Mastering the puzzle means you can disassemble and assemble the two pieces easily.
You know exactly which moves, in what order to execute to untangle the pieces and then to re-assemble.
A series of clever moves.
Recommended for ages 13 to 105 years.
NO FORCE is ever required to solve the puzzle.
