Product Description :
The U.
S.
Postal Service issued these 33-cent Love: Victorian Hearts special stamps on January 28, 1999 in Loveland, Colorado.
These stamps are particularly appropriate for wedding invitations and announcements, wedding RSVPs, Valentine”s Day cards, and other greetings of affection.
The stamps were the first US self-adhesives die-cut to the shape of the images depicted.
The design was created from Victorian artifacts by collector and designer John Grossman and designer Holly Sudduth.
The floral heart design was based on a paper lace English valentine, circa 1885, with red roses, white lilies of the valley and green leaves.
The background was derived from an American chocolate or biscuit paper-lace box liner from around 1900.
