Calcium Chloride

Our food-grade Calcium Chloride granules are a Calcium compound used during the pickling process to help retain pickle crisp firmness, resulting in crunchy and crispy dill pickles and other pickled items. Calcium Chloride is generally preferred to Alum powder.

This Anhydrous (Dry) Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) USP (Food Grade) is NOT for as is consumption.

Creates heat when dissolved. Dissolve in cool liquid below 80 degrees F. Do not add water to calcium chloride. Add calcium chloride to the liquid.

1 level teaspoon added to 1 quart of liquid makes a 1/2 percent solution.
