Fresh out of prison for a crime he didn’t commit, Vietnam veteran Buck Matthews (Gary Busey) finds his plans to settle down with his family destroyed when his wife is killed by a sadistic band of drug-pushing bikers. Recruiting fellow ‘Nam vet buddy J.B. (Yaphet Kotto), Buck deals out his own brand of bloody justice as he takes on the gang and the corrupt local lawman (Seymour Cassel) in their pocket.
