Cooking for the Stove: Makes 4 servings of perfect Flahavan’s Oatmeal. Stir 1 cup of Flahavan’s Steel Cut Oatmeal into 3-3/4 cups of cold water or milk. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cooking time may vary depending on the texture required. Cooking time will be reduced to around 20 minutes if the oatmeal is soaked overnight. Cooking for Overnight Method: Stir 1 cup of Flahavan’s Steel Cut Oatmeal into 3-3/4 cups of cold water or milk. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 2 minutes. Cover and when cool, place overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, bring the oatmeal to the boil and simmer for 10-12 minutes stirring frequently.
