Blue Sail Coffee is a thriving coffee company in the heart of Arkansas. When I was 21, I went on a solo backpacking trip through Italy. This is where I discovered my passion for coffee. I was so inspired by the adventure, when I returned home, I put everything I had (which wasn’t much) into opening a coffee shop. Nearly 10 years later, the adventure lives on. However, now my passion has taken aim at a BIG problem within the coffee industry, supply-chain transparency. There are 12.5 million coffee farmers in the world, and almost half live below the poverty line. Most coffee producers and laborers are left in the dark, and because of our ignorance, coffee consumers (most of us) contribute to their hardship. That is why I started a YouTube channel called, The Coffee Explorer. I use this channel to show my customers where my coffee comes from and the people that made it. It is my hope that by exposing the supply-chain to my customers and the world, that we can slowly shift consumer preferences towards coffees that are sustainability and ethically produced.
