Fairchild Male (Pollenizing) Variety Formerly known as USDA selection ‘74-52’, we have renamed this male variety in honor of David Fairchild, famed plant explorer and tireless advocate for A. arguta. ‘Fairchild’ is an excellent planting companion for all flowering A. arguta varieties due to its relatively long flowering window. UNH VERIFIED Flowering window: early – late Plant 10 to 20 ft. apart. They are hardy in zones 4b-8. Kiwi plants are very pretty when used to cover a wall or fence or used in landscape design. The fruit is very high in Vitamin C and its use in recipes is endless. The hardy Kiwis ripen in mid to late September. Growing instructions included with each order. Two Hardy Kiwi Plants are necessary to get fruit, a male and female. Use as a pollinator for female selections.
