This exotic beauty is perfect when wanting a rather small plant in areas with high humidity, such as a bathroom. With its elegant dark broad leaves with velvety texture and silver veins that pop, this plant earns its nickname Little Queen. Don’t be fooled with the resemblance of elephant ears which love water, these little gems are completely opposite. Let the soil dry completely before watering, it will not survive with sitting in water drenched soil. Every part of the Black Velvet plant is toxic to humans and pets, so be sure to place it away from curious pets or children.
- Includes (3) Alocasia ‘Black Velvet’ in 4” pot grower containers.
- Typically grown indoors as a houseplant but can be grown outdoors in USDA hardiness zone 10a-11.
- No more than 50 centimeters tall, although 30 centimeters is common. Leaves can reach about 8 – 12 centimeters.
