Camphor can also be used in a steam vaporizer to help relieve coughing by moistening breathing passages. Once diluted with 3 parts olive oil and applied to affected area, camphor spirit can temporarily relieve minor aches. Camphor is also known as an effective insect and moth repellent. Soaking a piece of cloth in camphor and leaving it in the open drives away insects like fleas, mosquitoes, and flies.
