Fava Beans, Extra Large (8 oz, ZIN: 526099): Our Fava Beans are extra large, greenish-brown, oval-shaped dried beans. Fava Beans have a bold, earthy flavor and a meaty texture. Each bean is approximately 3/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch in size. Fava beans should be peeled before use to remove the translucent covering. Fava Beans are high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, protein, fiber, potassium and iron. – To Prepare: Carefully sort and rinse. Soak beans overnight, then squeeze each bean to remove the outer skin. Rinse and place in a large pot, and cover with fresh water. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours, until beans are tender.
