Rinse them thoroughly, making sure no soap is left behind, and set them out to air dry.Fill It UpFollowing your recipe’s instructions, fill your mason jar with food. Wipe away any food or residue from the rim of your jar. Put your lid and rim on, and adjust the seal until it is fingertight. Do not overtighten.Check Your SealLet your jars sit for 12-24 hours before checking the seal. Press down on the center of the lid, and make sure it does not flex up and down. If your seal is good, mark your jars with the date, and put them in a cool dry place for storage.Chow DownStore your foods in your pantry or cellar for up to 18 months. Be sure to check the seal once again before opening a jar, and follow any appropriate food safety and cooking practices. Do not reuse the lid, as the silicone seal is indented by the sealing process.
